Mary Jane Goins (Davis)
October 21st, 1936 - June 24th, 2025
Mary Jane Goins (Davis), age 88, passed away on June 24, 2025, at her home in Indian Harbour Beach. Mary Jane was born in Braden, OK, on October 21, 1936, to parents Leonard and Thelma Davis. She was the only girl of their 5 children and was the last surviving sibling.
In 1958 Mary Jane met her husband Johnny Goins who was in the Airforce and home on leave. They married in 1960 and had three children. In 1969 they relocated from Ft. Smith Arkansas to Fairfax, VA where they lived, worked, and raised their children until their retirement in 1996. Mary Jane loved family, church, singing, gardening, sewing, and painting.
She is preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 65 years, Johnny Goins; her daughter Julie Dowding, daughter Laura Allen and son-in-law Bruce Allen, and son Bill Goins; her grandsons Jackson Dowding, John Allen and wife Hannah, William Allen, and Paul Allen; sisters-in-law Linda Cole and Barbara Williams who lived with our family after their parents passed; brother-in-law George (Buddy) Goins; and a slew of other beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Melbourne choir room, 3301 Dairy Rd, Melbourne, FL 32904.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Mary’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital https://www.stjude.org.
