Donna Kay Landon
June 8th, 1946 - June 29th, 2025
Donna Kay Landon ( Botterff), 79, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, in Oro Valley, Arizona.
Born on June 8, 1946, in New Mexico, Donna lived a life defined by generosity, resilience, and a deep love for animals and the outdoors. She was the daughter of Leslie and Josephine Botterff and sister to Sheryl Botterff, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Landon.
Donna’s life was marked by her unwavering commitment to helping others. A proud and active member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 30 years, she not only maintained her own sobriety but also dedicated herself to supporting countless others on their journeys. Through sponsorships and friendships formed within the AA community, Donna became a beacon of hope and strength to many.
Her generous spirit extended far beyond AA. Donna gave freely of her time and resources to friends, family, neighbors, and numerous charitable organizations. Whether offering a helping hand or a listening ear, she found joy in giving and supporting those around her.
In her younger years, Donna was an accomplished horsewoman. She competed as a barrel racer and team roper and even appeared as an extra in several western films during the heyday of the old Tucson Studios. Her passion for horseback riding remained strong throughout her life; one of her most cherished recent memories was a ride through Saguaro National Park in 2023 with friends and her nephew and niece.
Donna also had a deep affection for dogs. She delighted in spending time with her own dog as well as those belonging to neighbors and family members. Her love for animals was just another expression of the warmth she shared so freely with the world.
She is lovingly remembered by Daniel and Wendy Oster, her nephew and niece and her sister-in-law Elizabeth Oster, who shared many special moments with her.
Donna’s legacy lives on through the lives she touched with kindness, compassion, and unwavering support. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
There will be a private memorial in the fall of 2025.
