"Simply do what you can do, in the best way you know how, and the Lord will accept your effort."

Henrietta “Tip” Kendrick, age 89 of Mount Carmel, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 30, 2025.  Tip was born on December 27, 1935, in Sullivan County, TN, to Franklin Bass and Willie Vaughn Bass.  Tip was a pioneer of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kingsport, TN.  She was a member of the Rotherwood Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Tip loved her church and her family.  She enjoyed cooking and canning, but most of all, she loved serving Jesus Christ.

Tip was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimbo Kendrick; two sisters, Minnie Lorenzen, and Lib Shoemaker; and two brothers, Sonny Bass, and Frank Krantz.

Those left to cherish Tip’s memory and testimony are her son, Rob Kendrick and wife, Jeanne; two daughters, Judy Morehead and husband, John, and Jo Greene and husband, Danny; four grandchildren, Jason Morehead and wife, Tracy, Amber Johnson and husband, Chad, Sarah Steadman and husband, Kory, and Cheyenne Thompson and husband, Josh; six great-grandchildren, Cameron Morehead, Blake Morehead, Cash Harrell, Lincoln Steadman, Isaac Thompson, and Gracie Thompson; two sisters, Lola Myers and husband, Jake, and Stella Kiss and husband, Jim; and many loving nieces, nephews, church family, and other family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Shades of Grace, located at 313 E Sullivan St, Kingsport, TN 37660, (423) 765-2440

There will be a graveside service on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Bishop Josh Polk officiating.  A grave dedication will be performed by Ed Lewis. Tip's family will be serving as pallbearers.  Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 pm.
