Sherry Rae Shutts
November 3rd, 1944 - June 25th, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Sherry Rae Shutts. Sherry passed away at home on June 25, 2025, at the age of 80, after a short bout with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband, Don. Her children: Rhonda (Frank), Randy (Katharina), Ricky (Ann) and Marti. Grandchildren: Kylene (Ryan), Kirsten (Brian), Clayton (Malory), Miranda, Delaney, Dalton, and Melissa. Great grandchildren: Mason, Jaxon, Easton, Landrey, Breckyn, Jayden, Kinsey, Krue, Sean, Andrew and Mya. Brother-in-law, Jim, sisters-in-law, Norma and Pat. Numerous nieces & nephews and many friends. She was also the human mother to Puff and Bella, her beloved dogs.
Sherry and Don were married on May 16, 1969, putting their blended families together. She was retired after working for many years as a health clerk in the La Junta, Co School district and a home health aide in Walsenburg, Co. Sherry was born and raised in Nebraska and Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Fern, brother, Verdell, and sister, Marlene. She has left us with many cherished memories and will be sadly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Aspen Mortuary - Arvada, Monday, July 7, 2025 at 11:00 am. Family viewing will be at 10:00 am.
