**Obituary for Evelyn Ann Sickel** It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Evelyn Ann Sickel, who left this world on June 28, 2025, in Denver, Colorado, at the age of 67. Born on August 13, 1957, in Chester, Pennsylvania, Evelyn was the cherished only child of Dr. George William Sickel and Ruth Evelyn (Bell) Sickel. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved family members, including George and Isabelle (Bittinger) Moore, Judith (Walker) Moore, James and Patsy (Moore) King, and Jimmy King. Evelyn is survived by a loving extended family, which includes Dr. Richard Moore, Dr. Elizabeth Moore (Leonard), Dr. Jeannette (Moore) Frei (Mike), Dr. Patricia Moore (Bruce), G. Patrick King (Denise), and a wide circle of friends and colleagues. Many of those who had the privilege of knowing her, such as Sandy Mueller, Kathy Hancock, Mary Sue Johnson, Ruth Ann Striker, Barbara Weiss, Heidi Hessenbuttel, as well as her many colleagues at the Sewell Child Development Center, will deeply miss her presence and the warmth she brought into their lives. A dedicated educator for over 36 years, Evelyn specialized in working with toddlers and preschool children with special needs. Her professional journey was marked by a profound commitment to the development and well-being of countless children and families. She advanced to supervise other special education faculty for the Cherry Creek School District and served as Vice President of Program Systems at Sewell Child Development Center. In addition, she founded a private developmental intervention practice, offering direct support that positively impacted the lives of hundreds. Evelyn was an avid learner, holding degrees from Robert Lee Paschal High School, Wittenberg University, the University of Colorado, and the University of Phoenix, which equipped her with the skills and passion needed to make significant contributions to her field. She was held in high regard by her peers and was much loved by the children and families she served. Her dedication extended beyond her profession; she was known for her determination, loyalty, and kindness. Evelyn was a devoted daughter, tirelessly caring for her parents during their lives. Her generosity and energy inspired all who met her, serving as a shining lighthouse in their lives. In her free time, she enjoyed training dogs, photography, gardening, cooking, exploring the outdoors, and sharing moments of joy over coffee with friends and family. As we remember Evelyn, the family encourages those wishing to honor her memory to consider making a donation to Bloodhound Man-Trackers, an organization dedicated to training dogs that assist in locating lost or missing persons (www.bloodhoundmantrackers.org). Funeral arrangements are forthcoming, and we appreciate the outpouring of love and support during this challenging time. Evelyn's remarkable spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
