Harry "Gene" Eugene Ulmer, III

Harry (Gene) Eugene Ulmer, III of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away at his home peacefully, with his family at his side, on June 30, 2025.
Gene was born on November 17, 1951, in Columbia and was the son of the late Harry Eugene Ulmer, Jr. and Betty Jo Crout Ulmer.
He graduated from Dreher High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He was a “jack of all trades,” working in the area of banking, at various marinas including the Port Royal Marina in Beaufort, SC, and as a marine diesel mechanic. Gene lived in several places including Columbia, SC, Beaufort, SC and Newport News, Va.
Gene loved his family, being on the water, and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a member of Heyward Street (formerly Wesley Memorial) United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia (Pat) Warshawsky Ulmer, two daughters, Ashli Aslin (Matt) and Nikki Ratcliffe (Nicholas), two granddaughters, Langley and Frances Aslin, and sister, Susan Ulmer. He was predeceased by many beloved dogs, including Conroy, Bella, and Dixie.
A Service of Remembrance will be held for family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Gene to Heyward Street United Methodist Church at 2501 Heyward Street, Columbia, SC 29205.
