Peek Fun Lo

Peek Fun Lo, aged 75, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on June 26, 2025, after a months-long battle with cancer. Peek was born on October 10, 1949, in Burma, but grew up in Sandakan, Malaysia, where she would go on to meet her lifelong companion and future husband of 49 years, Unjang bin Salleh. 

Her fortitude and passion for making deals ensured the success of her general store in Malaysia, strengths which also made her family-of-six’s 1986 move to Seattle as smooth as possible. In Washington, Peek worked hard and put on many hats—working as a seamstress, caretaker, and volunteering at a homeless shelter—to provide for her children through public school and beyond. 

Peek will be remembered as a strong and truthful, yet caring and generous sister, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her siblings: Mary, Peter, Grace, and Douglas; her four children: Zaideh, Sheila, Perry, and Zenfeek; and her seven grandchildren: Andrew, Gabriel, Katelyn, Sebastian, Noah, Zachary, and Isabel.

Peek’s life will be commemorated at Beck’s Tribute Center in Edmonds, WA, with a service on July 14, 2025 at 10 AM.
