Betty Lou Johnson

Betty Johnson, the youngest of six children, was born in Portland OR, to the union of William Johnson Jr. and Velda Marie Johnson. She spent her early years in Missoula, Montana, before returning to Portland, OR where she graduated from Jefferson High School. She pursued higher education at Portland State University, laying the foundation for a life of service, leadership, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones. Betty built a distinguished career, working for the City of Portland with the police department and proudly serving in the Army National Guard. Her drive and commitment led her to become a plant manager at Rundell Products, where she continued to demonstrate her strong work ethic and leadership. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Betty had a deep love for reading, music, and roses. She was passionate about family, creating a warm and welcoming space known as “Betty’s Do Drop In,” where all who entered felt at home. Betty received Christ and later became a member of Allen Temple CME Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William Johnson Jr. and Velda Marie Lobdell, as well as her siblings: William Johnson III, Richard (Vonda) Johnson, and Wayne Johnson, Cora Marie Brown(Charles) and Sharon Lee Johnson. Betty’s love and legacy will forever be cherished by her one and only child, Meronica (Reginald) Rogers, her grandchildren Marques, Reece, and Rylee, and her significant other, affectionately known as her “Fella,” Ronald Manus, along with his children. She also leaves behind her cousin who’s like a brother Larry Johnson, and a host of adoring nieces and nephews. Betty’s kindness, strength, and warmth will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
