Sharon Dell Goins, 70, of Nicholasville passed away while under hospice care at home on Monday, June 30, 2025. A Lexington native, she was born to the late William Baxter Osten and Ardella Harvey Osten on August 6, 1954.  

 

Sharon was a member of the Lafayette High School Class of 1972. She worked for the Old Ben Coal Company during the early years of her professional life. She went on to develop her career as a bookkeeper in other organizations during the remainder of her career. Sharon also contributed to her husband Mike Goins’ civilian career with the U.S. Air Force while they were stationed in Korea, Hawaii, and Kansas. 

 

She enjoyed traveling to interesting places. She loved sports, especially the Cincinnati Reds. 

 

Sharon is survived by her son Brad (Angela Smith) Paley; her stepson Brian Kelly Goins; her grandchildren: Landon and Kya Paley, Madison, Makayla, and Skylar Marshall, and Cameron and Callie Goins; and her nieces, Leah and Lori Botkin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her daughter Briana Marshall; her sister Pam Botkin; and her brother Billy Osten. 

 

Sharon will be dearly missed. 

 

Her family has chosen cremation and a celebration of life gathering will likely occur in the near future. Please monitor this memorial site for any updates.
