Dennis Johnson

Passed away June 16, 2025, at the age of 82. Born to James and Benita (Peal) Johnson in Aberdeen, WA, in 1942.
Dennis spent his early years growing up in Portland, OR, and then in Klamath Falls, OR, until 1958, when Jim moved the family to Sacramento, CA, for his job with the Union Pacific Railroad.
Dennis graduated from El Camino High School and then joined the US Navy in 1960. He served for five years and traveled to many areas around the world.
After his service time, Dennis attended Cal State Long Beach where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in business administration.
He met and married Linda Carrell while working in the Bay Area for Peterson Tractor and moved to Redding, CA, to raise his family.
His career took him back to the Bay Area and later up to Eugene, OR, where he finally retired in 2007. He welcomed his first of four grandchildren in 2008.
He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time on the Oregon Coast with his family.
He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising Labrador retrievers. He also loved the Oregon Ducks and the San Francisco Giants.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Benita; father, James; and his sister, Karen.
He is survived by a sister, Janet Sumner, of Cleveland, TX; his children, Allison Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ, Amanda and Allen Dill of Yuba City, CA; grandchildren, Garren, Taylor, and Alex Johnson of Albany, OR; and his daughters, Colbie and Ava.
