Romell Elizabeth Jones, age 94, of West Columbia, SC, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025. Born on April 19, 1931, in West Columbia, she was a cherished member of her community and a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.

 

Romell was a proud graduate of Brookland Cayce High School. Her journey in life was enriched by her deep faith and the loving relationships she cultivated over the years. Following her marriage to Kimble Ward Jones, a U.S. Air Force navigator, Romell embraced a life of adventure. The couple, together with their family, traveled the world, residing at various military bases before eventually settling back in West Columbia, where they have forged many lasting friendships.

 

Her loving spirit will always be remembered by her daughter, Tina Jones West, her daughter-in-law, Trisha Jones and her numerous nieces and nephews. Romell was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Kimble, as well as her parents, Wesley and Marie Thompson, her son, Randy Jones, and grandsons, Patrick and Joshua Jones.

 

Romell was a devoted member of Mt Hebron Methodist Church, where she actively contributed to the community and offered her invaluable support to various church initiatives. Her kindness, resilience, and unwavering faith inspire all who knew her.

 

A memorial service to celebrate Romell's life will take place on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10 AM at Mt Hebron Methodist Church, located at 3050 Leaphart Rd, West Columbia, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

In this difficult time, her family invites everyone to honor Romell’s memory through reflections of her boundless love and positivity, which will forever illuminate the hearts of those she touched.
