Carol Solomon-Santelli (née Einhorn) Age 81

Carol Solomon-Santelli, age 81, passed away peacefully at Traditions of Cross Keys, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Einhorn and Regina Einhorn (née Klein).

She is survived by her beloved husband, Salvatore L. Santelli; her sons, Jeffrey Solomon and his husband, Greg Bills, and Jason Solomon and his wife, Kathie Kozlowski; her stepdaughter, Rita Santelli and her husband, Dean Baij; her brother, Stephen Einhorn and his wife, Karen Teti; her devoted niece, Melissa Luther (née Einhorn) and her husband, Jon Luther; her caring nephew, Michael Einhorn and his wife, Sonya Zeigler; as well as her grandchildren, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many other cherished relatives.

Carol was a deeply compassionate person whose life’s work was rooted in empathy, understanding, and service. After earning her Bachelor of Arts from Long Island University, she went on to become a certified social worker and a certified dementia practitioner in the State of New Jersey.

In 1992, she turned that compassion into action by founding her own company, CHS Geriatric Care, Inc. Working closely with older adults and their families, Carol built a reputation as a tireless advocate who didn’t just offer professional guidance, but who truly walked alongside her clients through some of life’s most difficult decisions. She pioneered in-service seminars at care facilities to train staff not only in clinical care but in delivering human-centered care rooted in dignity and respect for residents living with dementia.

Carol was also a leader and educator in her field. She served as President of the New Jersey chapter of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, founded Network Connections of South Jersey, represented New Jersey for the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Association, and was a proud member of both the American Society on Aging and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Shiva will be held at the residence of her husband, Sal Santelli, 29 Prestwick Lane, Williamstown, New Jersey, on Saturday and Sunday, July 12–13, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
