Ged Andrusaitis passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, at his home in Durham, California, beside his beloved shepherd King and surrounded by family, as were his wishes. In the final days following a recent cancer diagnosis, Ged was fortunate to experience an extended “wake,” filled with love, laughter, and Lithuanian patter, shared through long phone calls and bedside visits from devoted siblings, children, and cousins.Born on July 7, 1946, in Wurzburg, Germany, Ged was the eldest of six children born to Albinas Andrusaitis and Kostule Pultenavicius Andrusaitis. With deep Lithuanian roots, his young parents immigrated to the United States, settling in the Detroit, Michigan area. Ged obtained his U.S. citizenship in 1970 and remained close to his family even as he explored various parts of his adopted country. Known for his staunch political conservatism, Ged was never shy about sharing his views on figures such as Putin, Biden, Trump, Newsom, his favorite columnist Thomas Sowell, and the state of agriculture in California. After graduating from Wayne State University Ged pursued a varied career path that included supermarket site analysis, real estate marketing, construction, poker dealing, farming, and nut sales. His work took him to New York City, Portland, Maine, Dallas, Texas, South Lake Tahoe, and Stockton. In 1985, Ged married Connie Coats Andrusaitis. Together they settled in Durham, where he began a fulfilling life running the family almond orchard. This venture blossomed into a thriving nut brokerage, which he dedicated himself to for the past 25 years. Ged loved cruising Northern California in his pickup, delivering almonds and stopping in small mountain towns to exchange news and stories with storekeepers. He was also proudly involved with the Durham Rotary Club for many years. Beyond his business pursuits, Ged was a devoted father and family man who enjoyed playing pickleball, poker, and tinkering around the ranch, where he could and did maintain and fix everything!Ged is survived by his wife Connie; son Daniel Andrusaitis of Lakeport, CA , daughter Jessica Andrusaitis of Rocklin, CA; and four siblings— Irene Dunn, Laima Vizachero, Birute Andrusaitis, and Vyto Andrusaitis—who reside in Michigan. He was preceded in death by his brother John Andrusaitis of Michigan. Nieces and nephews are numerous and scattered all over.Interment will take place at the Durham Cemetery. A memorial Celebration of Life will

be held at Butte Creek Country Club on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 11 AM. Ged’s family warmly invites friends to join the gathering and the luncheon reception that will follow. Kindly RSVP by calling or texting Connie at 530 864-0472 so that appropriate preparations can be made in the spirit of this remarkable man.
