In Loving Memory

Beatrice Duinker Brady, 76, of Conway, SC, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, in Lexington, SC after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Asbury Park, NJ, on November 3, 1948, Bea was the beloved only child of Harry and Cornelia Duinker. She grew up in Ocean Township, NJ, where she spent her childhood helping around her family’s business, Harry’s Inn (aka Harry Duinkers) — the bar her father owned and her mother helped run.

Bea graduated from Brookdale Community College and went on to become a registered nurse. She worked many years for an Oral Surgeon in NJ.  She was also a gifted seamstress, which she always credited the Nuns in her High School (Star of the Sea Academy) for teaching her. She so enjoyed making drapes and pillows for friends and family.  She once ran her own painting and wallpaper business in NJ as well, a testament to her talent and fondness for making spaces beautiful.

In 2004, she and her husband Tom moved from Mendham, NJ to South Carolina to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. She and Tom shared 54 years of marriage before his passing just three months ago. Their love and devotion to each other were an inspiration to all who knew them.  In her final years, Tom devoted his life to caring for her and making sure she was comfortable.  We find comfort and peace knowing they are together again.

Bea was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and the proud Nanny to two grandsons. She is survived by her children Shannon Brady Hannon (Dan) of Murrells Inlet, SC and TJ Brady (Jessica) of Landrum, SC, and by her cherished grandsons, Reese and Brendan.

She will be remembered for her creativity, her quiet strength, her love of reading, sewing, drawing, painting, and decorating — and most of all, for the warmth and love she gave to her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bea’s memory to Hospice Care Charity Inc.
