James "Jim" Michael Bounds

James Michael Bounds (Jim) was born on August 9, 1977, in Topeka, Kansas. From a young age, Jim was active and athletic, participating in soccer, baseball, basketball, and track. He excelled academically as well, ultimately graduating as valedictorian of the Earlville High School Class of 1995 in Illinois. 

Jim continued his education at Michigan State University, where he graduated cum laude with a degree in business in 1999. He later earned his MBA from the University of Washington. 

An avid lover of the outdoors, Jim found joy in hiking, biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, and camping. Among his many outdoor achievements, he proudly summited both Mount Rainier and Mount Shasta, reflecting his adventurous spirit. He also had a deep love for animals—his beloved dog, Dexter, was his loyal companion for over 16 years and passed away just a week after Jim. 

Jim is survived by his fiancée, Nicola Ciarelli, his parents, Daniel and Iris Bounds, and his siblings, Brian, Bill (and wife Jill), and Christina. He is also lovingly remembered by his nephews Ryker, Lucas, Graham, and Harrison, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever miss his warm smile and kind heart. 

The Bounds family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the friends and neighbors who have shown unwavering support during this difficult time. Jim will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
