Joan Simpson, 90, of Lexington, and widow of Robert L. Simpson, Sr. passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025. She was born to the late Henry Camarra and Palma Tuccinardi Camarra on January 13, 1935 in Utica, New York. She was a Catholic Christian who attended Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Churches of Lexington.
During her life, Joan lived in New York, Florida, and Kentucky, but she was a New Yorker at heart. She enjoyed reading, including religious books; shopping; and taking walks. Her neighbors will remember the long strolls she took in their neighborhood.
Joan is survived by her son Robert L. (Angelia) Simpson, Jr.; three grandchildren, Robert L. Simpson III, Jessica (Taylor Ballard) Simpson, and Aiden Simpson; two great-grandchildren, Mason Ballard and Kayaliana Simpson, and her honorary daughter Crissie (Phillip) Jones.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 10th at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing, Nicholasville. The visitation will take place from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm. The funeral will begin at 6:00 pm.
