In Loving Memory of Ardell DeWayne O'Neal
July 14, 1946 - June 30, 2025
A loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ardell DeWayne O'Neal, 78, of Tampa,
Florida, on June 30, 2025. He passed away peacefully in his home.
Ardell served his country honorably in the U.S. Army for 3.5 years and dedicated over
35 years as a missionary, sharing his faith and love with communities around the world.
Alongside his military and missionary work, he was a Critical Care Registered Nurse
(CCRN), a profession he was immensely proud of. He brought his skill, compassion,
and dedication to his work, caring for patients in their most vulnerable moments. He was
also a master gardener and an avid world traveler, always seeking to learn and
experience new things.
When asked how he found strength during difficult times, Ardell once said:
"Remember that the situation may not be what is wanted, but make the best of it. Anger
or self-pity will not make things better."
This simple truth guided the way he lived - with grace, patience, and quiet strength.
Ardell was a beloved member of Lutz Community Church, where his faith, generosity, and service to others made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, James O'Neal, Wayne O'Neal, and Andrea Corchado; his
9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life; and his
brothers, Alan O'Neal and Cecil O'Neal. Ardell's legacy of love, kindness, and service
will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 11th, 2025, 2pm at Lutz Community
Church, 601 Sunset Ln, Lutz, FL 33549, where friends and family are invited to
celebrate his extraordinary life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ardell's honor to Lutz
Community Church at lutzcc.org reflecting his deep commitment to faith and helping
others.
Ardell's life was a true reflection of faith, compassion, and selflessness. He will be
deeply missed but will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
