The Island Funeral Home & Crematory
Brian Paul Haley
March 1st, 1945 - July 1st, 2025
Brian Paul Haley, 80 years old, of Hilton Head Island, SC, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2025.
Brian was born to Frank and Marianne Haley on March 1, 1945, in Staten Island, NY. He attended high school in Brooklyn, and graduated from the University of Delaware with a BA in Chemical Engineering in 1968. After that, he went on to earn his MBA in Finance at the University of Delaware in 1972. Brian spent his 37 year business career serving in several leadership positions in companies including Honeywell, Airco/BOC, and Holox, and served as President and CEO of his final and favorite company, Holox Ltd., in Norcross, GA.
Brian was a devoted husband to his wife of 56 years, Terri, and was a wonderful father and grandfather to his two children and three grandchildren. After living in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Georgia throughout his career, Brian thoroughly enjoyed retirement with his wife in their Hilton Head Island, Moss Creek community, where he enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, and time spent with their good friends and neighbors. Brian would look forward to his Monday golf and lunches with his buddies where they solved all the world’s problems, and to cocktail and dinner parties with friends. He even continued his affinity for leadership after retirement by taking on the role of President of the Board for a period of time in the Moss Creek community that he and Terri loved.
Brian was a lifelong learner and if he didn’t know the answer to a question he would make a point to find it out, usually within a day. He was fascinated with and very knowledgeable about history, finance and politics, was a voracious reader, and more recently started listening to podcasts while out walking so he could learn something new every day. He loved to share all of his wisdom with his wife, kids, and grandkids, and could always be counted on for a great conversation, especially on their front porch overlooking the marsh. Brian took nothing for granted in life, and always made sure the people he cared about knew it.
Brian is survived by his wife Terri Haley, his daughter Christy Menke (Eric), his son Paul Haley, his grandsons Grant and Justin Menke, his granddaughter Haley Menke, and his brother Steve Haley. He is preceded in death by his parents and many friends and relatives.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 11AM followed by a reception until 1PM for Brian at The Island Funeral Home at 4 Cardinal Rd, Hilton Head Island, SC on Friday, August 1st, 2025.
In lieu of Flowers, donations may be sent to The Moss Creek Charitable Fund at https://cf-lowcountry.org
