Andrew "Andy" Winston Hills
May 19th, 1941 - June 27th, 2025
Andrew Winston Hills passed away on June 27, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Suzanne; his son, Christopher (Rachel); his daughter, Heather Shade; his three grandsons, Zachary and Joshua Hills and Justice Shade; his brothers, Thomas and James (Elaine); and his sister-in-law, Jeanne Robson. He was predeceased by his parents, Claude H. and Signe L. Hills; his brother, Robert; and his sister-in-law, Michelle.
Andy was born in Washington, DC on May 19, 1941. He grew up in Wyndmoor and Flourtown, PA, graduated from Springfield Township HS, Penn State (BS and MS) and Temple University (EdD). He completed his service in the Army as a Captain. He retired as a School Superintendent after 35 years as an educator. Before and after his retirement he spent his "leisure" time as a house painter primarily in Thousand Island Park, NY.
He served communities through a water and sewer authority, rotary and Lions' Clubs, preservation and landmark societies, Athletic Committee, Bocce, Bingo, and Trivia activities. He struggled to remain still and endeavored to get the life story of everyone he met. He was a consummate gentleman, and he epitomized humbleness.
The memorial service to celebrate the undying spirit of his life will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Melbourne, FL on July 26 at 1pm. His cremains will be interred at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Glenside, PA at a later date.
