It is with heavy hearts that we announce Monica Bhavnani-Torres passed on June 7, 2025, in Chehalis, Washington. Monica was born in Culver City in California on June 20, 1973, to her mother and father, Darlene Bhavnani and Raj Bhavnani. She moved to Washington State at 19. She would come to obtain her G.E.D. and attend college classes to further her education. She lived in Rochester/Tenino and eventually, she moved to Olympia where she lived for over 15 years, before moving again to Tenino Washington for 5 years. While we grieve her passing, let us remember and celebrate the life she lived and the joy she brought to all around her.

A traveler at heart, Monica loved exploring new places and was eager to take any opportunity for a new adventure. She especially loved going to the beach or spontaneous road trips. Monica deeply valued her time spent with her family and loved cooking for the people in her life. Many will remember the joy and excitement she brought to their lives and will be dearly missed.

Not only was she outgoing, but she also had a truly tender heart. Monica worked for the State of Washington, dedicating herself to serving the citizens of our state. Not only that but also volunteering her time at several food banks and other charities. Profoundly affecting the lives of many in our communities. While we remember her, let us try to show others the same kindness Monica showed to so many.

Monica is survived by her loving mother Darlene Masters; her father Raj Bhavnani; her sisters Lisa Carter and Debbie Brun; her brothers Sameer Bhavnani, Rajesh Bhavnani, and Ricky Bhavnani; her daughter Brandi Floreck; her two grandchildren Iris and Grace; as well as many other family members.

A service will be held in Monica’s honor in the Lacey Community Center at 6729 Pacific Ave SE, Lacey, Washington on July 13, 2025, starting at 4:00 PM.

Monica will be missed by many but never forgotten.
