Paul Irvin Lohr, 86, of Kernersville, NC, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025.
He was born on May 24, 1939, in Corriganville, Maryland, to the late Harry and Cora Sagle Lohr.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Charles and Joseph, who gave their lives in World War II; his brother James, who also served in the war; and his two sisters, Shirley Attix and Jean Batzer.
Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Margaret Bancord Lohr; his sons, PJ Lohr and his wife Jonanne, and Jamie Lohr and his wife Traci. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Carter, Cooper, William, Cameron, and Reagan, who brought immense joy to his life and whom he cherished deeply.
A proud veteran, Paul served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Thailand as a communications specialist. His service was a source of great pride throughout his life.
Paul was an avid golfer and a familiar face at Pine Knolls Golf Club, where he spent countless hours enjoying the game and the camaraderie. He had a passion for many hobbies over the years, including building and flying remote control airplanes, hunting, fishing, and photography.
A dedicated community member, Paul was one of the founders and developers of the Kernersville Soccer Association, leaving a lasting legacy through his contributions to youth sports and local engagement.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home, located at 213 W. Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC 27284.
