Tanya Herzberg

It is with heavy hearts that we announce, after a well fought battle against Cancer, Tanya Louise Herzberg passed away on July 3rd, 2025, in Onalaska Washington. Tanya was a beloved wife, mother, and sister and will be dearly missed by family and friends alike. Despite life’s challenges, Tanya was always one to live life to the fullest, so while we mourn her loss let us remember and celebrate the life she lived.

Tanya Herzberg was born in Harlan Iowa on July 30th, 1973, to her parents Gary and Monika Albers and grew up in Avoca Iowa, eventually graduating from Highschool and moving to Omaha, Nebraska to attend college there. She would eventually move to Willamina, Oregon and marry her husband Luke Herzberg in Sheridan, Oregon on June 8th, 2003. They would then have their son Michael Herzberg on September 13th, 2005, and shortly after moved to Onalaska, Washington, where they would call home for 19 years.

She will be deeply missed by both her and Lukes family, as well as the furry members of the family. Tanya had a love for animals of all kinds, but especially her cats and dogs who she deeply cared for. Many coworkers at the Steck Medical Group will also greatly miss her as she loved her job and the people she worked with. Always the life of the party, Tanya made many friends and was loved by all who knew her.

Not only having a passion for animals, Tanya also had several creative talents as well. An amazing baker many were lucky to be able to try her recipes. She also enjoyed quilting, creating one-of-a-kind quilts that held her passion and her memory.

Tanya is preceded in death by her father, Gary Albers. She is survived by her spouse Luke Herzberg; her son Michael Herzberg; her mother Monika Albers; her brothers Bill Albers and Kevin Albers; her sisters-in-law’s Wanna Albers and Jacki Albers; her nieces and nephews Seth Albers, Regan Albers, and Jason Albers; as well as members of Luke’s family and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at the Mason Jar Gathering Barn, located at 637 Leonard Rd, Onalaska, WA 98570, on July 27th starting at 4:00 PM. An additional celebration of life will be held in Tanya’s home state of Iowa, details of which will be announced at a later date.

Tanya was a cornerstone of her family and her community, and her memory will live on in their hearts.
