Jody Diane Stark
May 26th, 1949 - June 28th, 2025
JODY DIANE STARK May 26th, 1949, Missoula, Montana to June 28th, 2025, Port Orchard, Washington.
Throughout Jody’s early years in Montana, her growing-up years in Racine, Wisconsin, and her forty-plus years in the northwest of Washington state, she was spiritually connected to God through her love of nature and by developing deep relationships with family and friends.
Jody graduated from Park High School, Racine, Wisconsin, in 1967 and received a degree in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1972. She taught English in her early career, but her love of nature and the outdoors led her to become a landscape designer and contractor near Gig Harbor, Washington. She spent time studying landscape design in France and, using her artistic talents, created unique and beautiful landscape designs that integrated with nature. Jody later opened Ravensara with her daughter Tara, a coffee shop near Gig Harbor, and served great coffee for 20 years before retiring. Jody was also a board member and volunteer at the Morning Star Waldorf School, where two of her children attended.
Jody had three children, Tara, Shane, and Blake, with Paul Froode in Washington. She also had 13 grandchildren.Jody loved music and was proficient in glass blowing, painting, writing (published a book of poetry), and gardening. She loved sharing her artistic talents with her kids, grandkids, and friends. She had a plant nursery and loved gardening with her friends and family. She enjoyed developing friendships through these talents, along with her love of great food and wine.
Jody was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Joe Stark, her sister, Tamra L. Stark, her husband, Paul Froode, and her husband, Joey Rudolph.
Jody is survived by her children, Tara Froode, Shane Gray (Aaron), Blake Froode (Jennifer), along with 13 grandchildren, her brothers Kempy Stark (Nancy) and Kirk Stark (Judy).
A Memorial Service will be held at her gravesite at 2:00 p.m. for family on Friday, July 18th, and a Celebration of Life at 5:00 p.m. at 1030 SE Peabody Ct, Port Orchard, WA 98367. Memorials may be sent to this address as well.
