Rita Haro Navarrete, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at her home in Ontario, Oregon, surrounded by her loving family.

Rita was born on December 14, 1931, in Cornwell, Pennsylvania, to Genaro and Altagracia Haro. One of 14 children, she grew up in a large, loving family. In 1945, her life's journey took her to California, where she met the love of her life, Emiliano Navarrete. They married, built a home, and raised a family together-first in California, and later in Ontario, Oregon, where they settled and spent the rest of their lives.

Rita worked side by side with her husband throughout their years together. She was a devoted wife, a loving and supportive mother, an incredible grandmother, a caring mother-in-law, and a remarkable aunt to many nieces and nephews. Her family was her greatest joy, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and cherished memories.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emiliano Navarrete, her son, Emiliano Jr; her parents, and 11 siblings

Rita is survived by her eight children:

  • Rosemary (Willy)
  • Louis (Elena)
  • Lupe (George)
  • Susie (Tom)
  • Ruben (Rachel)
  • Rick (Rosa)
  • Hector (Elsa)
  • Daniel (Stephanie)

She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her 31 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister.

Rita will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Mom, thank you for all of the wonderful travel memories — they will be treasured always.

Funeral Services for Rita will be held Monday, July 14, 2025. Beginning with the Rosary at 9:00 am and the Funeral Mass at 9:30 am. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery.

Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel-Ontario

For over 100 years, the Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel has served the Ontario, Oregon, community with professional, compassionate care. Our story begins in 1907 when the Peterson family, who owned a furniture store in Ontario, helped with funeral arrangements and sold caskets from the store’s basement. Over the years, the business has grown and had a number of owners, partnerships and names. Among them was our current namesake, the Lienkaemper family, who purchased the family funeral home with the mission of helping families in the Ontario community. ...
