Herbert "Herb" Steven Reberger
August 8th, 1948 - July 10th, 2025
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Herbert "Herb" Steven Reberger, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away in Venice, Florida on July 10, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on August 8, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Herb lived a life rich with experiences, laughter, and love. Herb was the son of Richard P. and Eleanor M. Reberger and shared a bond with his brothers Richard, Michael, and Jeffrey. He was married to the love of his life, Constance L. Reberger, and together they raised a beautiful family that included their son, Herbert S. Reberger Jr., and their daughter, Christina L. Reberger. Herb took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Matthew R. Creager and Emma N. Woodford, always finding time to share his wisdom and sense of humor with his loved ones. Herb's work ethic was evident from a young age when he started as a paperboy at the age of eight and later worked as a grocery clerk. After graduating from high school, he joined Indianapolis Power & Light (IPL), ultimately serving in the U.S. Army as a sergeant during the Vietnam War, where he demonstrated remarkable courage and dedication. Upon his return, he rekindled his career at IPL until 1978, when he transitioned to a sales role at Weathershield, eventually rising to the position of President. Herb further contributed to the growth of a then-nascent company, Vinyl Tech, now known as PGTI, where he retired as Vice President of Sales. Known for his strong personality and competitive nature, Herb was admired for his diligent work ethic and ability to cut through the noise, always getting to the heart of the matter. His generous spirit and sense of humor touched the lives of many, as he often provided not just for his family, but also for friends and community members. Outside of his professional endeavors, Herb enriched his life through a variety of interests. A talented musician, he loved playing the guitar and considered himself the captain of his own ship. Herb was passionate about fishing and SCUBA diving, activities that allowed him to savor nature's beauty. Though he enjoyed golfing, he often joked about never finding the right clubs. His cherished Harley brought him joy on the open road, where he found freedom and adventure. Herb's legacy carries on through the many lives he touched with love, wisdom, and laughter. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. A service to celebrate Herb's life will be held at Farley Funeral Home, Saturday July 19th, located at 265 Nokomis Ave S, Venice, FL 34285, Saturday July 19th, beginning at 12:00 PM, followed by a service at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tidewell Hospice in Herb's honor. Herb may have departed from this world, but his spirit remains in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
