In Loving Memory...

Elizabeth J. Camillo, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, just shy of 90.

Born in Nova Scotia Canada, Elizabeth had a brave adventurous spirit, leaving her birth family in Canada at an early age for a job in a hospital lab in Miami Florida. She later moved to South Carolina to raise her family and tackle a degree in her 50s.  Saying she didn't have time to wait, she pushed to complete a 3-year degree in 2 years for respiratory therapy.  She happily served in this role, enduring 12-hour shifts, running circles around co-workers many decades younger, until she decided to retire at the age of 80.

Elizabeth had great appreciation for her friends and family. She especially loved the large family get-togethers with all twelve of her sisters and brothers, where there were stories told, much laughter, and many hot dogs consumed into the early morning hours.  She loved to dance and spent many years at the dance studio, carrying the standard for wearing high heels when dancing and when going pretty much anywhere.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Camillo; her son, Edward and daughter Melanie; 2 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild, all of whom will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.

Her legacy is one of strength, grace, and unwavering support for the people she loved. She will be missed deeply by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will have a private celebration of life. In place of attendance or flowers, consider a donation to your local Humane Society.
