Rosemary L. DoyleMarch 10, 1934 – July 9, 2025

Rosemary L. Doyle, a devoted mother, beloved grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was 91.

Born on March 10, 1934, in Amsterdam, NY, Rosemary was the daughter of the late Louis J. and Laura (Raco) Calleo. She was a proud graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School, Class of 1952, and a lifelong member of both St. Joseph’s Church and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, where her faith remained a cornerstone throughout her life.

Rosemary began her career as a typist at the Naval Supply Depot in Scotia, NY, and later worked as a secretary at General Electric in Schenectady. It was during her high school years that she met the love of her life, Ronald W. Doyle. They married on May 9, 1954, and built a life grounded in love, perseverance, and the joy of raising their eight children together. Later in life, Rosemary worked as a school crossing guard for the local district—a job she loved dearly and one her husband, Ron, often joked with her about.

For over two decades, the Doyle family owned and operated a cigar shop on Caroline Street in Saratoga Springs, NY—a gathering place filled with warmth and laughter. Rosemary could often be found in the back room on Saturdays, joyfully playing Rummikub with dear friends.

Rosemary had a quick mind and a gentle heart. She loved puzzles, word finds, and crosswords, and was an avid reader with a deep curiosity for the world. She cherished the adventures of travel, especially the beauty and heritage of Italy, which held a special place in her heart. A talented cook, she made every meal a memory. She was also a passionate sports fan, cheering on the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Green Bay Packers with unwavering loyalty.

Nothing brought her more joy than her grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with Jason Andolina, Ryan Andolina-Cabral, and Giada McGillin, who brought light and laughter to her life.

She is survived by her loving children: Lori Smith (Greg) of Amsterdam, NY; Richard Doyle of Saratoga Springs, NY; Lisa McGillin (Gene) of Alexandria, VA; Kelly Andolina (Kevin) of Clifton Park, NY; and Sean Doyle of Ballston Spa, NY. She is also survived by her cherished grandsons, Jason Andolina of Clifton Park, NY and Ryan Andolina-Cabral (Tyler) of Brooklyn, NY, and granddaughter, Giada McGillin of Alexandria, VA; her dear brother, Michael Calleo (Jack) of Manhattan, NY; as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rosemary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald, in 1995, and by her children Robert Doyle (1983), Kathy Riess (2005), and Kevin Doyle (2006). She was also predeceased by her brother, Louis Calleo Jr. (2024).

Rosemary’s legacy is one of resilience, compassion, and deep devotion to her family. She will be remembered for her strength, grace, and boundless love.

To honor Rosemary’s generous spirit, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart. Donations can be made online at www.stjude.org or by mail to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, aides, and staff at River Ridge Living Center for their compassionate care and the comfort they provided to our mother.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM July 26, 2025 at Our Lady Of Mt Carmel Church St. John Street Amsterdam. Celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 5 to 7 PM at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Avenue Amsterdam New York 1201O
