Biography of Alan S. Monshine

Alan S. Monshine, born on May 8, 1958, was a truly unique soul who brought sheer joy and vibrancy to the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He passed away on July, 12, 2025, in Davenport, Florida, but his spirit continues to shine through the love and memories he left behind. A husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, Alan was deeply cherished by his wife, Geriann Monshine; his daughter, Melissa, and her husband, Mike; his son, Jason, and his fiancée Crystal; his youngest son, Allen, along with daughter-in-law, Susan; and niece Danielle and husband, Chris; as well as nephew, Josh and his wife, Carmen. Grandchildren, Michael Joseph and Dominick, were a particular source of pride and joy for Alan. He is also remembered fondly by his sister, Andrea, and brother-in-law, Bruce; and a multitude of cherished relatives and friends, including many nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored him and saw Alan as an integral part of their life.

Alan's life journey took him from the world of construction in his early years to the garment industry, where he flourished while working for Norton McNaughton. His passion for fashion led him to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and Parsons School of Design, where he honed his skills in pattern making. Beyond his professional endeavors, Alan was known for his impressive musical talents - he was the lead singer and guitarist of the beloved band, Mad Hatters, and a certified rockstar in his own right. Music was not just a hobby for him; it was a language he loved to share with friends and family, often teaching others how to play and appreciating its power to bring people together.

Those who encountered Alan were struck not just by his talents, but by his incredible personality. He had a way of making every interaction feel special, never knowing a stranger and always greeting life with a smile. He was the quintessential child at heart, full of kindness, humor, energy, loyalty, and ambition. Whether he was fishing with a friend, strumming his guitar at a family gathering, or reminiscing about adventures at amusement parks, Alan approached every moment with contagious enthusiasm. Alan's passing leaves a notable void, but the laughter, kindness, and love he spread during his time here will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched.

A celebration of his life will take place at Kersey Funeral Home located at 108 Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale, Florida, 33823.

His legacy lives on through the memories shared by family and friends, reminding us to appreciate the joyful moments in life and the bonds that connect us. Alan may have left this world, but his spirit will always make every gathering feel like a celebration.
