Joyce Keller Moore
June 5th, 1935 - July 13th, 2025
Joyce Keller Moore, 90, passed away on July 13th, 2025 under the care of UNC Rockingham Rehab and Nursing Care. She was born June 5, 1935 in Richmond, VA to the late Mr. Lloyd C. Keller, Sr. and Mrs. Jessie Nell Holland Keller of Winston-Salem, NC.
During her school years the family lived in Kingstree, SC where she graduated in 1955 from Kingstree High School. She went on to graduate from Furman University in Greenville, SC in 1959. While a student, she was selected to sing with Furman Singers touring each year the United States in church concerts.
As a high school teacher she taught Biology and History in public and Christian schools in SC, NC, and VA. Her last teaching job was in Spartanburg, SC before disability retirement in June 1990.
For 25 years, she lived in Spartanburg, SC. She was a member of First Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir, a member of Yesterday’s Tears Senior Choir touring the United States in Prison Ministry, and a member of the Early Bird Sunday School Choir.
From 1993-2002, she was a student in Bible Seminars at the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove near Asheville, NC.
To be nearer her three sons and due to health issues she moved to Eden, NC in 2009. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eden.
In addition to her late parents, she was preceded in death by her only brother, Mr. Lloyd “Buddy” C. Keller, Jr..
She is survived by her three sons: the oldest son of Greensboro, NC, Keith Moore and wife, Angie and their children, Garrett, Rachel, Travis, Lauren, and Kelsey; the middle son of Eden, NC, Daniel Kirk Moore and his children: Daniel Moore and his daughter, Mattie; Jessie Moore and her children, Destiny and Harrison; Johnny Moore, and his wife, Amanda, and their children, Brent and Tanner; and Katie Moore; the youngest son of Trinity, NC, Kent Moore. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Frances Keller of Winston-Salem, NC and her three children, Angie, Sandy, and Randy Keller.
The family will receive friends at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service, 213 W. Mountain St. Kernersville NC 27284 on Monday, July 21st, 2025 from 10:00-11:00AM. Funeral services will follow beginning at 11:00AM with Pastor Sal Barone officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC.
