Don Louis Arndt
October 8th, 1933 - July 9th, 2025
Don Arndt, 91, of Parker, Colorado, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-
grandfather, Don lived a life defined by adventure, service, and family. Born on October8, 1933, Don served in the Korean War as a military police officer, earned recognition as a translator, and was later bestowed the honor of Ambassador of Peace from the Republic of Korea. He built a career as a pioneer in the cable television industry. His passions, however, truly shaped his legacy. He was an avid boater, scuba diver, and car enthusiast who found joy in racing and restoring classic automobiles. Don also had a special bond with animals, especially his dog, Jocko, and had a lifelong affection for horses.
Don shared 64 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Redpath Arndt, who preceded him in death in 2023. Together, they built a life filled with love,
laughter, and adventure, creating cherished family memories in Laguna Beach, CA; Lake Geneva, WI, where Don served on the Town Planning Commission and the
Geneva Lake Pier and Harbor Committee; and in Parker, CO, where they enjoyed touring the state with the Rocky Mountain Austin-Healey Club. They were also active
with the Parker American Legion and the Parker Artists Guild.
Don and Betty’s legacy endures through their four children: Don Arndt, Jr. (Lori ✝ ) Anne Marie Arndt, Lisa Thompson (Lee), and Carolyn Calfee (Tom). Don was a proud
grandfather to Ryan Arndt (Novena), Kara Arndt, Sean Mitchell, Kerry Thompson, Kaitlin Thompson Kotz (Henry), Cayla Calfee Poore (Preston), and Brandy Krachmer;
and great-grandfather to Mia Kotz and William Poore. He was uncle to Robert “Buddy” Arndt, whom Don loved as a son. His warmth, wisdom, and laugh touched the lives of extended family and countless friends.
A private burial service will be held in Newport Beach, CA, where Don will be laid torest beside Betty, his partner in love and life.
