David Crutcher Gaines

We are sad to announce that on Friday, July 11, 2025 at the age of 60, David Gaines of Frankfort, Kentucky passed away of a sudden illness. Though David may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will live in the memories and legacy David leaves behind. 

David was the owner of David Gaines Roofing for over 25 years. He was a perfectionist at his job/company and was highly respected in the community and surrounding counties.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Doug Gaines Sr.; his son, Ryan Gaines; and his brothers, Francis Gaines and Doug Gaines Jr. 

David is survived by his two sons, Tyler Gaines (Kaylee) and Nicholas Gaines; his mother, Bonnie Gaines; his granddaughter, Kensley; his sister, Mary “Sissy” Gaines; his brothers, Woody Gaines (Terri), Dudder Gaines (Kim); several nieces and nephews; and his girlfriend, Sheila Ortman and her family.  

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Tyler Gaines, Nicholas Gaines, Dudder Gaines, Woody Gaines, Brian Perry, Sissy Gaines, Bonnie Gaines, and Kaylee Redmon. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. A gathering of family and friends will follow the services at David’s church located at North Frankfort Baptist Church, 7945 Owenton Rd, Frankfort, KY 40601.
