Michael C. Maddox Jr., known to many as “Mike Dammit” and “Chef Michael,” passed away on July 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and deep devotion to his family and passions.

Michael was a gifted musician whose soulful creativity touched the hearts of those who listened. As a chef, he brought people together with his culinary talents, nourishing not only their bodies but also their spirits. His vibrant energy, infectious silliness, and fierce loyalty made him the kind of man who could light up any room and comfort any soul.

He was a man of many talents, but above all, Michael was a devoted family man and a gentle caretaker of all living things. Animals were naturally drawn to him—his family often said he was a dog whisperer. His kind heart and playful spirit made him beloved by both people and pets alike.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Angelica Maddox; his cherished son, Jessie Vandermark; his step children Fesili Wynn, Abby Wesley, and Alyssia Wesley; his mother, Cheryl Maddox; father, Michael Maddox Sr.; sister, D'Andrea Anderson; niece, Cydney Anderson; nephew, Jaylen Anderson; and brother-in-law, Terrell Anderson. He also leaves behind many cousins and extended family members who adored him.

Michael’s memory will live on through the music he made, the meals he crafted, the joy he gave, and the love he shared so freely. Though he has left this world, his light remains eternal in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
