Doris Elaine Averill Anderson
September 27th, 1926 - July 12th, 2025
Doris Averill-Anderson, age 98, Greeley Colorado died of natural causes on July 12,2025 in her home with her family around her.
She was born in Dacono Colorado in 1926 to Maynard Green and Lottie Green, and was raised in Longmont Colorado with six siblings. Doris is the last of them. Doris spent most of her career working a switch board for Ma Bell, City of Longmont, Longmont United Hospital, and working part time for a bus shuttle service in Greeley. Her favorite work was being a farm housewife raising her family.
Doris was preceded in death by Ronald D. (Buck) Averill, beloved husband and son Mike Averill and is survived by sons Ron and Ken and daughter Diana. Doris had 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 5 great- great grandchildren.
Doris is having a graveside service on July 23, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 in Longmont at Mountain View Cemetery, 620 11th Ave., Longmont Colorado. Immediately after the graveside service will be a reception at Diana’s house 160 Katsura Circle in Milliken Colorado, 970-233-0054. In lieu of flowers the family would request donations for Memorial Therapy Garden for Hospice. Donations can be made to Banner Health of Northern Colorado, Attn.
