Jim “Hatchet” Leggett, born May 14, 1951-July 16, 2025, Summerville, SC.  With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend Jim “Hatchet” Leggett.  Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years Georgia Elaine Leggett who only recently left this earth one year ago.  He is survived by his daughter Carrie (Jack) Chaplin, son Chad (Kim) Leggett, grandchildren Jacob “Cole” Chaplin, Madison “Rosebud” Leggett, Seth Chaplin, Carter Leggett, and great grandchild Hadleigh, as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Jim was known by most as “Hatchet”.  He spent most of his days hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends.  Although we will miss him dearly, we know that he is having his best days ever with Jesus, Georgia, and family and friends that left this earth before him.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:15 on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Simplicity, 281 Treeland Drive, Suite C, Ladson, SC 29456 followed by a graveside service at the Plantation Memorial Gardens, 3345 S. Live Oak Drive, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
