Gayle Evelyn Payne
June 14, 1940 – July 16th, 2025
Gayle Evelyn Payne passed away peacefully in hospice care at The Aspens at Fort Collins, surrounded by the love of her family. Born June 14, 1940, Gayle lived a life of fierce devotion, resilience, and a fiery spirit that never backed down.
Gayle lived life on her terms, quick with a tease and even quicker with a comeback. She lit up every room with her humor and welcomed any and all, good-natured sparring.
Gayle dedicated her life to her children and never missed a moment that mattered—whether it was cheering at her son’s football games or clapping at her daughters’ dance recitals. She worked tirelessly to provide for her family until her well-earned retirement, and her love never wavered.
She is survived by her daughter Kelly Weimer and husband Kevin, her son Michael Williams and wife Stella, her cherished grandchildren: Michael (and his wife Rosie), Jason, Amber, Heather (and her husband Petey), Eric, and 7 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers Bob Payne and Bill Payne, her sisters Sharon Fuller and Kathy Cook, and her brother-in-law Charlie Fuller. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay Payne and Leta Allee, and her son Eddie Williams, who passed just two weeks before her.
She cherished her time with her siblings and always carried the memories in her heart. Gayles retirement years spent living on the river in Oregon, where evenings were filled with card games, laughter, and friendship, were some of her most precious moments.
Gayle’s legacy is one of strength, loyalty, and unconditional love. She gave everything she had to her family, and in return, was deeply loved. Her spark, sass, and unwavering devotion will be remembered always.
