Charles "Chuck" Oliver Walcott, Jr., a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at home July 19, 2025 at the age of 72, surrounded by his cherished family. He was born to military parents, Charles Oliver Walcott, Sr., and Ruth Flora (Brown) Walcott, in Denver on April 10, 1953. During their time in service, they were stationed in Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Georgia. After settling in Warner Robins in the 1960s, he attended Northside High School. As a Northside High School Eagle, Chuck played football and graduated in 1971. He loved attending Northside football games when he was able. He enjoyed coaching and supporting his children’s athletics and attending his grandchildren’s sporting and school events. He made lasting friendships during time spent playing softball in church leagues as well as during his career with Kroger. He retired from Kroger after nearly 30 years. In 1988, he met his wife, Donna. They married the following year and were blessed with almost 36 years of marriage.

Chuck was a voracious reader preferring Christian nonfiction/fiction and historical books. He was also a member of the Choctaw Nation. His Christian faith, gentle spirit, and strength served him well through long periods of illness in recent years. Despite serious health concerns, he insisted on building his and Donna’s dream home on acreage in a pecan grove 23 years ago. A homebody by nature, he enjoyed working in the yard, feeding songbirds, woodworking, watching sports, listening to music, and spending time in the Word. He and Donna most enjoyed time at home and vacationing in the mountains. He loved his church family.

Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Charles Oliver Walcott, Sr. and Ruth Flora (Brown) Walcott. He is survived by his wife of almost 36 years, Donna Walcott, and his three children, Becky Taylor, Parker Walcott, and Megan Salter (Eric). He was a proud grandfather to Kyra Taylor, Brycen Sursely, Kolton Walcott, and Victoria Parramore (TJ). He is also survived by his brother, Bobby Walcott (Charo), mother-in-law, Carole Bartee, sister-in-law, Kennecia Garrison (Hal), niece, Kimberly Ricketson (Allen), and great-nephew, Brayden. He will be sorely missed by family, friends, and his beloved schnauzer, Bentley.

The family is grateful to Friendship Baptist Church for their enduring support through Chuck’s extended illnesses. The family also extends heartfelt thanks to his team of caregivers, doctors, home healthcare therapists, nurses, hospice, and friends who invested selflessly in him.   Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 12:45-1:45 pm. Following visitation, from 2:00-3:00 pm, Chuck’s celebration of life will be officiated by Friendship Baptist Church's Pastor, Dr. Paul Cowles, in the Chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Private interment will occur at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
