In Loving Memory of James "Jimmy" Merino

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we annouce the unexpected passing of James "Jimmy" Merino on July 14, 2025, at the age of 40. Jimmy has just begun a new chapter of his life in Arizona when he was tragically taken from us. His passing leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Jimmy was the definition of a gentle giate, fierce in loyalty, big-hearted, and full of personality. A proud San Francisco 49ers and Giants fan, he was rarely seen without his favorite jersey or sports cap. Whether watching a game or playfully roughhousing with his brothers, Jimmy brought energy, humor, and heart into every moment.

Known for his sharp wit and signature jokes, Jimmy had a way of making everyone feel like family. He was especially playful with his siblings, always teasing, joking, and keeping them on their toes. Despite the jokes and the tough exterior, he was incredibly tender and affectionate with his nieces and nephews, a true teddy bear whose hugs could make anyone feel safe.

At the core of Jimmy's world was his son, James Jr. He absolutely adored his boy and was committed to being present, supportive, and guiding him toward a strong and upright life. Jimmy worked hard to be the best version of himself, not just for James Jr., but for the entire familyhe loved so deeply. His mission was always to improve, to grow, and to show up.

Jimmy is survived by his cherished son James Jr., his loving father Robert Merino, and his siblings Bobby, Jessica, Daniel, Michael, Manuel, Steven, Xavier, and Aaron as well as a large etended family and countless friends who will never forget the light he brought into their lives.

Though he may no longer walk beside us, Jimmy's love continues to echo in every laugh, every game day cheer, and every memory shared between those who knew him. His jersey may be retired here on Earth, but his legacy plays on, in the hearts of all who loved him.
