The Island Funeral Home & Crematory
Judith "Judy" Henning Stukitz
April 5th, 1945 - July 19th, 2025
Judith “Judy” Stukitz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 19, 2025. She was 80.
Born on April 5, 1945, in West Reading, Pennsylvania, Judy was the daughter of George and Helen Henning. She pursued a degree in Business Education at Penn State University, where she met the love of her life, George Stukitz. They were married for nearly 60 years, sharing a deep bond built on love, laughter, and mutual respect.
Throughout their lives together, Judy and George called many places home, including Westlake, Ohio, and St. Charles, Illinois, before retiring to Hilton Head Island in 2005.
Judy was a devoted wife and a loving, supportive mother. She was also a proud and enthusiastic Penn State alumna—fall Saturdays were sacred, spent cheering on the Nittany Lions with unwavering loyalty. Her love for the game was only matched by her joy in sharing it with family.
Beyond football, Judy found peace and happiness on the water and the golf course. She loved boating and spent many cherished afternoons on the water, enjoying the beauty of nature and the company of loved ones. She also enjoyed being on the green playing a round of golf.
Judy’s kindness was boundless. She was selfless, compassionate, and generous, always putting others before herself. Her greatest joy was her family, and she filled their lives with unconditional love, wisdom, and quiet strength.
She is survived by her husband, George; her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Amanda Stukitz; her daughter, Stephanie Stukitz; her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Edward Kiamie; her brother and sister-in-law, George and Susan Henning; and her five beloved grandsons, Evan, Connor, Jack, Ryan, and Cole.
A memorial service will take place on July 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at The Island Funeral Home to celebrate Judy’s life and legacy followed by a private burial.
