Frankfort – Betty Florence Bailey-Mitchell, 85, widow of Samuel Davis Mitchell Sr., passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025. She was born in Midway on April 26, 1940 to the late Marion and Rosie Devers Bailey. Betty was a housewife; she loved taking care of her children and grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her son, Stephen Lewis Mitchell; niece, Melinda Bailey; her nephew, Vernon Bailey; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Samuel David Mitchell, Jr., James Thomas Mitchell, and Benjamin Mitchell; her sister, Lucy Smith; and her brother, Marion Bailey Jr.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:30pm at Midway Cemetery, Midway on Thursday, July 24, 2025 with Lowell Newsome officiating. Serving as casketbearers will be Walter Brown, Tony Bailey, John Mitchell, Brandon Bailey, Stephen Mitchell, and Jacob Cox. Beau Bailey will serve as an honorary casketbearer. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 2:00pm on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Frankfort Senior Center.
