Harlan Templin
March 17th, 1936 - July 12th, 2025
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear husband and father, Harlan Charles Templin, who went to be with our Lord on July 13, 2025.
Harlan was born on March 17, 1936, in Young America Township, Minnesota, to Carl and Cordelia Templin. He graduated from New Ulm High School and received an associate’s degree in accounting. He worked as a comptroller in both the banking and automobile industries for most of his professional life.
On March 22, 1959, he married Janet Syverson. Together, they raised four children, Clay, Ford, Tracy, and Robin.
Dad enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing in his church bowling and softball leagues. He was a fan of local sports teams including the Tucson Toros, UA Icecats, and the Arizona Diamondbacks. He met his friends for breakfast every Friday, and he loved going to the Broadway in Tucson productions. Most importantly though, he cherished family time—barbecuing, playing games, swimming with his grandsons, and delighting in his great-granddaughters' smiles.
He was a charter member of the B.P.O. ELK’s Eastside Lodge. Additionally, he was a dedicated supporter of the American Red Cross, having donated more than 555 units of blood throughout his lifetime.
Dad has now reunited with his beloved son, Ford who preceded him in death. Together they are smiling down from up above and making up for lost time.
A memorial service for the family is scheduled to take place at Streams in the Desert Lutheran Church at a future date.
