Mark Todd Hofherr passed away at home in Jackson, CA, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the age of 64.Mark was the son of Marion and Mary (Darrow) Hofherr. He was born on June 26, 1961, in Los Angeles, CA. He grew up in Tujunga, CA, and around 1976, the family built their home in Jackson, where he finished high school at Jackson High. In 1982, Mark graduated from Humphreys University in Stockton, CA. He married June (Johnson) Hofherr, and together they had their children Joshua and Jessica. They moved to Irvine, CA, where Mark dedicated many years to the IT industry, serving as a Vice President and Technology Manager for Washington Mutual and JPMorgan Chase. Mark loved camping and being outdoors. He participated in Indian Guides with his children, sharing with them the importance of community, friendship, and a deep appreciation for nature. "Mark was friends with everyone," his family said. Whether it was at work, on the softball field, or through Indian Guides, Mark understood the value of friendship, and he was a truly great friend. He was often called a "big teddy bear" because of his caring and gentle demeanor. In 2014, Mark returned to Jackson, CA, where he worked remotely as an IT consultant for Wells Fargo and lovingly cared for his mother. While living in Jackson, he met his wife, Lisa Hoover-Hofherr. Mark and Lisa shared a love of fishing at Lake Tabeaud, camping, and riding their Harleys. Over their ten years together, they rode across much of the western United States.Mark was joyfully promoted to "grandpa" with the births of his many grandchildren. He loved this role, expanding the backyard into a playground, snuggling in his chair, and sneaking them cookies. Some of the family's best memories of Mark come from witnessing his many hobbies. Whether he was smoking ribs, playing with wood, tending to his ducks and chickens, or helping a friend with a random project, he always had a smile on his face and a joke up his sleeve.Mark is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Hoover-Hofherr; his son, Joshua (Paige) Hofherr; his daughter, Jessica Hofherr; his stepdaughter, Crystal Duncan; his grandchildren, Thomas and Ellis Hofherr, and Amelia and Thomas Duncan; his mother, Mary Hofherr; and his sisters, Merri Hofherr and Melanie (Richard) Kidman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Martin; his brother, Ronnie Hofherr; and his father, Marion Hofherr.A Celebration of Life will be held on August 2, 2025.
