Joseph C Stanley
December 13th, 1927 - July 17th, 2025
Joseph C. Stanley, age 97, passed away on July 17, 2025. He was born in Lexington, VA, on December 13, 1927. Joe briefly attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, before service in the U.S. Army. He then attended and graduated from Washington & Lee University, in Lexington, subsequent to which he was a teacher/coach at Robert E. Lee High School in nearby Staunton, VA.
In 1952 Joe entered the FBI as a Special Agent, serving in the Albany, NY, Chicago, IL, and Tucson, AZ offices. After retirement in 1978 he was active as a volunteer for various local social service and civic groups. Joe was a member of the Tucson chapter of Former FBI Agents and 81)0E Lodge 385. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dolores; daughters Linda & Kathy Stanley, both of Tucson, and sons, David (Teresa), of Folsom CA, and Thomas (Cindy), of Aldie Springs VA, and 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
