Benjamin Collins

Benjamin Richard Collins passed away on June 25, 2025 in Portland, Oregon where he had lived for the past several years. Ben was a beloved son, brother, and uncle who is already deeply missed. He was a kind, funny, and giving man who loved hiking, playing soccer, computer games, reading, and watching movies. He especially loved the Lord of the Rings books and read them several times.  

Born in Gainesville, Florida, Ben lived in Gainesville during his school years before moving to the Atlanta area in 2002. Ben was a veteran who served in the Army. He loved to try new places and lived in Denver and Seattle before moving to Portland in 2019. He mostly worked in the restaurant industry and was a hard worker who always jumped in to do whatever needed to be done.  

Ben is survived by his mother, Susan Heisler of Peachtree City, GA; his father, Clay Collins of Greensboro, NC; his brother Jacob (Elle) Collins and nephew Grey Collins of San Jose, CA; uncle Dennis (Natalia) Heisler of Ashburn, VA; aunt Riki Collins of Greensboro, NC; and several cousins. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held on August 2, 2025 at 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church, 206 Willowbend Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269. A reception will follow in Smith Hall.
