The best memory we shared was the time we spent together between our first hello and last goodbye. That will never be forgotten.

Donna Marie Mohs, 67, of Marysville, WA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025, entering her eternal Home. Donna was born on August 16, 1957 in Martinez, CA to Allen Eugene Kelly and Gloria Kay (Jordan) Kelly.

Donna - wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, teacher, and friend - courageously battled diabetes, kidney, and liver diseases for the past two years.

Donna grew up on a small farm-like property in Lynnwood, WA where she tended to her beloved family animals. Her present cat, Cuddles, was always found resting on Donna’s arm.

She graduated from Lynnwood High School in 1976. After high school, Donna worked at the Kodak Fotomat Drive-through booth catching the eye of her future husband. Additionally, Donna was employed by Eldec Corporation.

Donna dearly loved her four children while making extra effort to bond with her seven grandchildren: ages 4 to 22.  She especially enjoyed teaching them, creating crafts in the “cottage” or at the kitchen table. She was a compassionate listener to all, but never shying away from voicing her opinion.

Donna retired in 2018 from the Marysville School District after 20 years of teaching as a Paraprofessional, working closely with students with special needs. She taught English as a Second Language (ESL).

Her many hobbies include traveling, cruising, crafting, (Crafts by C & D), quilting, and sewing. Rumor Control says she “held stock” in Hobby Lobby, Joann’s, and Walmart.

Donna was one of those rare “larger-than-life” individuals, who sought pleasure in “making life” happen. She had a precious smile and laughter, and a heart bursting with love and joy to share. She was passionate about building and maintaining personal relationships with others.

Donna brought everyone together, notably on special occasions and holidays. She desired all to feel connected to one another. Donna was known throughout as  “Grandma Mohs.”

Just for fun and a laugh, Donna challenged the grandkids to say the Mary Poppins lyric: “super-cali-fragil-istic-expi-ali-docious;” and backwards...”docious-ali-expi-istic-fragil-cali-repus.”

By-the-way: who was Grandma’s weekly “favorite” grandchild?

Donna is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Debra (Mark) Cook, Linda (Jim) Cronin; daughter: Kristy Mohs. Father-in-law: Ray Mohs, in-laws: Toni Mohs, Katie Wiltse.

She is survived by her husband, Ed, of nearly 45 years; daughter: Michele Ahlquist; sons: Mark, David A. Mohs; sister, Cheri Kelly; brothers: Mark Kelly, James Whitescarver; mother-in-law: Mary Mohs; In-laws: Chris Mohs, Jackie (Lew) Talbott, David G. Mohs (Kim), Jeff Mohs, Joe Mohs (Stacy); an uncle: David Blodgett; Grandchildren: Rianna Shankweiler-Mohs, Alyssa, Jordan Ahlquist, Casen Nielsen, Adreanna Mohs, Abbigail, Liam Mohs; numerous nieces, nephews.

An “open” invitation for Donna Mohs’ Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 1:00 - 3:00pm located at Our Lady of Hope, Hensen Hall, 2619 Cedar Street, Everett, WA 98201, located behind Bridge to Hope.
