In Loving Memory
Carl Lee Stainback, 72, of Kernersville passed away on July 11, 2025 under the care of Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Born in Henderson, NC, he was the oldest son of the late Frank and Bertha (Parrish) Stainback. He was married to Kay Lane on 02/14/1997.
Carl worked as a construction foreman for Precision Walls Inc for 32 years, retiring in 2009. Carl also served in the NC Army National Guard for 11 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman most of his life and loved fishing at Kernersville Lake Park. After retirement, Carl became an active volunteer, delivering Meals on Wheels, working at Bethany Café at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, and volunteering in patient services at Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center, where he also occasionally worked as relief parking shuttle driver.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Kay Lane; his brothers, Earl, Dennis (Susie), and Joseph Stainback (Tammy); along with 15 nieces and nephews and 33 great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Stainback, his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Mitch Walker; and sister-in-law, Barbara "Peanut" Stainback. In addition, his beloved Pomeranian Allyson.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 9th, 2025 at 2:00PM at Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, Kernersville NC, where Carl was an active member, with pastor Chuck Ireson officiating. Family and friends may visit in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Bunker Hill UMC, 1510 Bunker-Hill Sandy Ridge Rd, Kernersville NC 27284.
