Betty passed Over the River Jordan on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Frankfort Trails Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Betty was born on November 5, 1935 to Leona Newton Sanderson and Orville Clay Sanderson. She was the eldest of 10 children. Betty was a 1954 graduate of Elkhorn High School and a retiree of the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet. Betty was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.  

Betty is survived by a daughter, Roxanne Tyson Cook (James) and son, Steven Scott Carrier (Susan). Granddaughters: Andrea Cook Veeneman (Steve), Kimberly Cook Burke (Jonathan), Emily Carrier Durbin (Josh), and Hannah Carrier Courtney (Brandon). Grandsons: Joshua Carrier (Marissa) and Tyler Cook. 

Great granddaughters, Rosalee Francis Courtney and Faye Elizabeth Burke. Great grandsons: Brock, Dean, and Cole Veeneman, Jim Bob Carrier, Jesse Durbin, Jason Courtney, Isaiah Carrier and Zane Burke. 

Betty’s sisters: Jane Barnett, Wanda Carriss (Dennis), Judith Wingate, Paula Round and Rose Mary Sanderson. Brother: David Sanderson (Mary). Sister-in-law: Geraldine Sanderson, Brother-in-law: William Moore, and Daughter-in-law: Tena Carrier.  

Betty was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Carrier, son, Thomas Carrier, grandson, Travis Joseph Cook, brother, Douglas Sanderson, and sisters, Martha Smith and Linda Moore.  

Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd with Rev. Jeff Jackson and Betty’s grandson, Joshua Carrier officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Betty’s grandchildren will serve as casketbearers. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of service on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.
