Rachel Anderson, age 68, passed away peacefully at her home on the evening of July 21, 2025, at 7:10 p.m., surrounded by the people who loved her most.

 

Born on September 30, 1956, Rachel lived a life defined by love, grit, and unshakable devotion to her family.

 

Rachel's story began in Martin County, Florida, but her childhood took root in New Jersey, where she grew up with a strong spirit and a bold sense of adventure. As a young woman, she worked in Atlantic City and was known to light up the boardwalk as a go-go dancer, moving with the same confidence and spark that would later define her as a mother and friend. Eventually, Rachel returned to Florida, where she met her husband. Together, they built a life that spanned between Florida and Michigan, always finding home wherever they were together. Rachel loved playing euchre with friends and spending time surrounded by family. Her life was filled with laughter, movement, and connection-whether through cards, dancing, or long talks on the porch.

 

A woman of deep strength and sharp wit, she was known for her green thumb, her proud years behind the wheel as a dump truck driver, and the fierce way she loved her children and grandchildren.

 

Rachel was the proud and devoted mother of five children-Mandy, Julie, Little Rachel"Squiby", Johnny and Dillon-and the cherished grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. To them, she was not only a constant presence but a guiding light. Her selflessness when it came to family was unmatched; she gave her love freely, her time generously, and her laughter often.

 

Whether she was tending to her plants, sharing stories from her work days, or enjoying a well-earned moment of fun, Rachel lived her life with passion and purpose. She worked hard and played harder, teaching those around her the value of resilience, joy, and showing up for one another.

 

Her love was steady, her spirit unbreakable, and her legacy everlasting.

 

A memorial service to celebrate Rachel's life will be at Charlotte Memorial in Punta Gorda, Florida and laid to rest in Indian Springs Cemetery. Her family invites those who knew and loved her to share memories, laughter, and stories as we honor a life beautifully lived. On Friday August 8, 2025. Viewing is from11:00 to 12:00 and service is at 12:00 noon.
