Mark "Griz" Hatch
March 24th, 1952 - July 22nd, 2025
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved father, Mark Eugene Hatch commonly known as “Griz”, on July 22, 2025 at age 73. He died peacefully at home in Colorado with family present. He was a man of honor and his heart was big. His wisdom and guidance will be deeply missed. He taught us the importance of resilience and kindness and his smile and laughter was infectious.
Mark was born to Elda and Ivan Hatch on March 24, 1952 in Sandpoint, Idaho. He was the fourth child of six total. He married the love of his life, Cinda on September 28, 1973. They had four children and moved to Colorado in 1980 where they enjoyed family life with their kids and grandkids. He was a great family man and both immediate and extended family were very important to him.
Mark wore many hats during his working life including newspaper boy, bee keeper, crop duster, bartender, taxi driver, blackjack dealer, and roofer for construction of a local high school. But by far, his greatest passion for work was owing his own business, C Lazy G Enterprises, creating and servicing a software system for tracking money in casinos all over the United States. He was very dedicated to his customers, offering 24 hour, 7 days a week support for 26 years.
Mark lived his life fully without apology and on his own terms. He had many adventures living in Idaho, South America, Arizona, Colorado, and Mexico where the family almost moved to utilize Mark’s education in mining engineering for his late in-law’s gold and silver mines. Mark was passionate about history, especially the Civil War and the Old West. He took up building model airplanes in his later years. He will always be remembered for his beard, cowboy boots and hat, and his Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Elda and Ivan Hatch, his sister Arlene Stephens, his sister Bonnie Hamblin, and his beloved wife Cinda Hatch. He is survived by his siblings Janice Sanders, Brad (Linda) Hatch, and Glenda (Jonathan) Erbe, his four children Malinda Flesher Fay (Brian), Shawna (Jeff) Moore, John Hatch, Jeremy Hatch, five grandchildren, Alex (Miccella) Flesher, Geneva Flesher, Zoe (Nate) Cope, Zakary Hatch, and Ivan Moore, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
Mark’s Life Celebration will be held at 1:00pm Friday, August 29, 2025 at Adamson Life Celebration Home with a luncheon and toast to follow. Memorial gifts may be made to “Weld County Food Bank” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Friends may leave condolences at AdamsonCares.com.
