William Henry Marchbanks passed away peacefully at his home in Arizona on July 7th, 2025, surrounded by the love of his daughter, Dristen Marchbanks, her partner, Dane, and grandchildren, Liam and Za'im. He was 80 years old.

Born on January 21st, 1945, in Greenville, South Carolina, Henry was the beloved son of William and Leota Marchbanks, both of whom have passed on. He is also lovingly reunited in spirit with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Major, and his sister, Mrs. Gail Sanders (Joseph III) of Liberty, South Carolina.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Ms. Jan Gainey (of Greenville, SC); his wife, Rosalinda Perez-Marchbanks; his children: Steve Marchbanks, Matthew (Melinda) Marchbanks, Mrs. Terri Galang (Alfred), Miss Janna Marchbanks, and Miss Dristen Marchbanks; as well as his stepsons, Mr. Thomas Perkins and Mr. Michael (Emilie) Perkins.

Henry also leaves behind a cherished legacy through his nieces and nephews: Mr. Joseph (Stephanie) Sanders IV, Mr. Jay (Krissy) Allen, and Mrs. Ashley (Keith) Rollins. He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, including Liam and Za'im, and five great-grandchildren. He is also deeply missed by many cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends.

A graduate of Greenville High School, Henry - affectionately known as "#34" - a gifted athlete and standout star on the football field. He went on to pursue studies in management and technical training and served his country honorably in the United States Army. After his military service, he worked in law enforcement before building a long and successful career with the Yellow Pages.

Later in life, Henry followed his heart west to Arizona, where he discovered his true calling - working with horses. He became a devoted horse wrangler and trianer, embracing the cowboy lifestyle with pride, passion, and joy.

Known for his adventurous spirit, Henry loved hiking, exploring mountains, and never missed an episode of Gunsmoke or The Sopranos, two of his favorite shows. His laughter was infectious and echoed through the halls, a sound that brought comfort and joy to everyone around him.

Henry spent the last years of his life being the best grandfather he could be - fully present, patient, and playful. He was not only a devoted grandpa, but also an amazing father and unwavering support to those he loved. A kind soul filled with warmth and compassion, Henry was a great man, a loyal friend, a loving son, a proud uncle, and a constant source of strength and love.

He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his deep loyalty, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His Cowboy heart lives on in those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, at Six and Twenty Baptist Church, located at 3701 Six and 20 Road (Pendleton, SC 29670) with a service beginning at 11:00am.
