Carol Ann Laurie (Whittaker), 78, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away suddenly on July 26, 2025 .
Born on March 17, 1947, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Carol was the beloved wife of the late Frederic E. Laurie. She spent most of her life in Pawtucket before relocating to Lexington, SC in June 2004, where she built a new chapter of her life and friendships.
Carol worked for Lexington 1 school department in housekeeping until her retirement in 2010. She was admired for her kindness, her warm smile.
Carol leaves behind her loving family: her son, William J. Gardner of Stoughton, MA, and his partner Diane Noonan; her daughter in love, Michele Brown of Leesville, SC; her granddaughter, Sabryna Palardy of Cumberland, RI; her two stepsons, Earl Laurie of MA and Allan Laurie of NE; and her dear friend, Nancy Cook of Lexington, SC. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy throughout the years .
She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Frederic E. Laurie.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be at Woodridge Memorial Park chapel 138 Corley Mill Rd, Lexington, 29072 at 12 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2025.
